Hidden Gem in Brazil

When it comes to trips to the famous country of Brazil, we all have heard of the hip and trendy Sao Paolo or even the glamorous Rio de Janeiro. But what if we tell you that there are a large number of undiscovered cities and hidden gems in the country, most of which are not even mentioned by travel guides? One such city happens to be the beautiful Goiania.

Goiania is the capital city of the Brazilian state of Goiás. It has the largest area of greens per inhabitant in the country of Brazil and is also the second most in the world. From a varied species of wildlife to incredible buildings which were recognized by the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage, Goiania has it all.

Here is a list of some of the things you can do while in this beautiful city.

  • Visit the Parks:

Goiania’s green parks are legendary. From the ParqueZoológico which has over 1000 rare and beautiful wild animals, the Buriti Park, Goiania’s oldest green area which has the Goiânia Art Museum to the Cobra Veiga center for snake research, which offers a fascinating insight into the world of snakes, venoms and antidotes, there are tons of educational places in Goiania. These parks are a hit among locals, and make great tourist attractions especially if you are travelling with your children, and looking for something fun and educational.

  • Shop at the Feira Hippie:

Be it a souvenir for your friends or some new dress, the Feira Hippie flea market has it all for everyone who comes here. Situated in Praca do Trabalhador, most of the things sold here are made by the locals, with local products and are usually Bohemian in theme. Pop into this market during a Sunday, between 7am to 2pm, and try out their local candies, check out a few stall before you buy something.

  • Eat away at ChãoNativo I:

This unique restaurant is famous not only for its mouthwateringly delectable local cuisines, which are all made from fresh local products brought every single day from the market, but because of the fact that you can choose between pay-by-weight of the food you eat, which starts $48.90 or all-you-can-eat, or the simple fixed price meals at $33.90.

  • Visit the Pirenopolis:

A small village set 2600 feet above the sea level, this region is filled with beautiful waterfalls, rivers, small trails, beautiful trees, and of course, some wildlife. This is considered one of the nest and most unique representatives of the Brazilian wildlife and ecosystem.
